Foreigners love a variety of Korean foods, but some dishes are especially popular worldwide.
Here are some of the favorites.

1. Korean BBQ (Samgyeopsal, Bulgogi, Galbi)

• Samgyeopsal (삼겹살) – Grilled pork belly, usually eaten with lettuce wraps, garlic, and dipping sauces.
• Bulgogi (불고기) – Marinated, thinly sliced beef with a sweet and savory flavor.
• Galbi (갈비) – Korean-style marinated short ribs, grilled to perfection.

2. Kimchi (김치)

• Fermented cabbage with spicy and tangy flavors, a staple in Korean cuisine.
• Many foreigners enjoy it as a side dish or in dishes like kimchi fried rice or kimchi stew.
 

3. Bibimbap (비빔밥)

• A mixed rice dish with vegetables, meat, a fried egg, and gochujang (red pepper paste).
• The balance of flavors and textures makes it a popular choice.
 

4. Tteokbokki (떡볶이)

• Spicy stir-fried rice cakes in a thick, sweet, and spicy sauce.
• Often found at street food stalls and loved for its chewy texture and bold flavors.
 

5. Jjajangmyeon (짜장면)

• Korean-style black bean noodles, inspired by Chinese cuisine but with a unique Korean twist.
• A favorite comfort food, especially on “Black Day” (April 14).
 

6. Korean Fried Chicken (치킨)

• Extra crispy and juicy fried chicken, often coated in a sweet and spicy sauce.
• Many foreigners prefer it over other fried chicken styles because of its crunchiness and flavor.

7. Ramyeon (라면)

• Spicy soft tofu stew with seafood, meat, or vegetables.

10. Bingsu (빙수)

• Shaved ice dessert topped with red beans, fruit, condensed milk, or even cheesecake.
• Patbingsu (red bean bingsu) is the classic version, but many variations exist.
